Julia Charles Chair of Radyr and Morganstown Community Council
I moved to Radyr Sidings in early December 2013, and my first experience of the Community coming together was the Christmas lightening ceremony. From that moment I wanted to be involved in continuing to raise the community spirit and togetherness. I joined Radyr and Morganstown Community Council in September 2017 and joined the Cardiff Council Standards and Ethics Committee in September 2022.
I have a strong background in Human Resources / Learning and Development in Banking and the Civil Service, taking early retirement in October 2023. This knowledge and experience has helped in the Community Council work as Chair of the Finance Committee and a member of the Employment and Allowances Committee. I was extremely proud to be elected chair in May 2025, and I will do my utmost to ensure that Radyr and Morganstown is a lovely and welcoming place to live with great community spirit.
Away from the Council, myself and my husband Paul love travelling, even better if there is a local park run involved. You can also find us in the Ninian Stand on Saturdays as we cheer on the might Bluebirds.
